Koni $
Great for a takeaway lunch /dinner (or cheeky hangover feed)
Open: Mon – Sat 12:00 until 14:00, and 17:30 until 20:30
Koni opened up shop during the midst of the pandemic and their Korean fried chicken was an instant hit! Since opening, they have widened their menu to include a variety of traditional Korean flavours and dishes.

Hao Sushi and Grill $-$$
Great for date night!
Open: Tues – Sat from 12:00 – 14:00, 17:00 – 21:00
Like Koni, Hao Bar and Grill was another phoenix that arose during the 2020 pandemic. Their menu hosts fresh Japanese cuisine with a variety of sides and sushi options to choose from. We definitely recommend their fresh tuna sashimi – yum!
Great for a light meal with friends
Open: Tues – Sat 18:00 until 22:00
You’ll find it hard to not order everything on their mouth-watering menu of traditional Nepalese and Himalayan cuisine. If you’re stuck for choice, we recommend trying their traditional meat and vegetable dumplings known as MoMo – you’re welcome!

Signor Vertelli $-$$
Great for pizza night… ‘nuff said!
Open: Tues – Sat from 17:00 – 22:00
If someone were to transport a pizza bar from Napoli to the middle of Armidale’s main street, you’d find Senior Vertelli. The Italian restaurant emerged during lock-down… and let’s just say many pizza nights were had! Their authentic Italian flavours and fresh woodfire pizza will command a chef’s kiss from even the toughest critic. Mwah!

Tattersalls Garden Bar $$-$$$
Great for starting a night out with friends
Open: Thurs – Sunday from 12:00pm until late
Tattersalls garden bar is made for summer nights with friends and family. Their outdoor pizza bar hosts live music regularly and has spray mist surrounding the tables for those ultra-balmy days.

Whitebull Hotel Upstairs Restaurant – Mannys on Marsh $$-$$$
Great for a few cocktails and tapas!
Open: Daily 10:00 – 22:00
A change of scene from their down-stairs steakhouse menu (which we totally recommend if you feel like a pub meal), the Whitebull’s upstairs bar has a tapas and cocktail menu for those who like to get a little swanky!

The Alternate Root $ – $$
Great for a little road trip out of Armidale
Open: Daily from 8:00 until 14:30
Twenty minutes south of Armidale is the town of Uralla where you will find the Alternate Root. Popular for breakfast and lunch – you’ll take one look at their menu and realise why! Not only does their menu taste amazing, but it’s worth the Instagram snap too…

Great for brunch!
Open: Mon – Sat from 6:00 until 14:00
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day… especially when it’s a nice big bowl of ramen! Paper Tiger has some seriously delicious breakfast and lunch options to get your day off to a cracking start.

Great for a catchup with a friend over coffee and a sweet treat
Open: Weds – Sun from 18:00 – 16:00
Dust off your middle-school French at this coffee shop / French restaurant/creperie! There is always something new to try from their cabinet of French pastries, or from their menu of sweet and savoury crepes. You’ll be saying trés bon in no time!

The Welders Dog $ – $$
Great for cracking a cold one

If craft beer makes you weak at the knees, then you’ll probably collapse at the choices of beers on tap and in the fridge at the Welders Dog. They also have a full cabinet of spirits to please everybody! And, if you fancy an adventure, they have another venue in the industrial estate and in Tamworth!

Great for getting dressed up and hitting the town!

Charlie’s is the perfect place to start an evening out, or to end one! Their ever-changing list of seasonal cocktails are garnished to perfection – not only do they taste great, but your snap story will be the envy of everyone. They also offer a range of snacks and BYO Food, so what’s not to love?!
