Our annual Student Awards Night is a celebration of the outstanding work done by Clubs & Societies, TuneFM, SFK, and exceptional UNE students throughout the year.
It’s a night of fun, performances, delicious food, and awards giving as we recognise the achievements of our students.

Who: Clubs Executive, Student Leaders, & selected VIP.
Nominations: Open on 5th August & close on 26th August
A live stream of the event will be accessible on the night, commencing at 6.45 PM.
UNE Life Student Awards Night consists of a number of exciting events and initiatives.
Club of the Year
In 2023, the UNE Law Students’ Society were awarded the prestigious Club of the Year award.
The UNE Law Students’ Society had an amazing year in 2023. Despite operating primarily online, the club thrived, providing fantastic materials and programs for its internal student body while also representing UNE to a high standard externally.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the club recruited 115 new members, secured four new external sponsors, and finished the year with a total annual sponsorship of $13,812.52. A highlight of their year was the annual Law Ball, held for the first time in Sydney, which yielded phenomenal returns in engagement from online students.
The club also delivered a fantastic presentation at the 2023 ALSA conference, showcasing the benefits of running their club online. This, combined with their year-round efforts, resulted in them taking home three accolades at the 2023 ALSA awards night: Female Law Student of the Year (awarded to club president Lara Glasson), Outstanding Advocacy Award (awarded to club social media officer Amy Danek), and the ALSA Spirit of Leadership award (awarded to the club as a whole).
Meanwhile, at our 2023 Student Awards Night, the UNE Law Students’ Society achieved a record-breaking feat, taking home nine awards, including Club Member, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Year.
Therefore, the theme for our 2024 Student Awards Night will be a tribute to the UNE Law Students’ Society.
TuneFM Awards
The Student Awards Night also recognises and celebrates the achievements of TuneFM’s amazing volunteer base, the driving force behind UNE’s “Student Powered Radio.” TuneFM not only keeps students entertained and informed but also elevates the profile of UNE academics by conducting captivating interviews and contributing to the Newshub. Their talented volunteers produce incredible original podcasts that further enrich the UNE experience. We shine a spotlight on these efforts through a variety of individual and project-based awards.
SFK Awards
The celebration doesn’t stop there! The Student Awards Night also recognises the winners of the Sir Frank Kitto Intercollegiate Arts Competition (SFK). Each event winner receives an award, and the night culminates in crowning the overall SFK champion.
The SFK is a longstanding tradition where UNE’s colleges and off-campus students (“townies”) put their creativity to the test in a series of exciting events. Explore the link below to learn more about this artistic competition.
